They are also involved in victim protection and victim support after serious traffic accidents.
A serious traffic accident is not an everyday occurrence for those involved, witnesses, injured parties and first responders, as well as for relatives and other people in the vicinity, and can result not only in physical and material damage, but also psychological stress. The event exceeds the previous wealth of experience and one's own possibilities for action and movement. Those affected experience different and often threatening feelings such as helplessness, despair, loss of control and physical reactions. These acute stress reactions of those affected are the body's normal response to an extraordinary event. If a psychologically traumatizing event is not processed appropriately, this can lead to a mental disorder in the long term. It doesn't have to come to this! The victim protection officers Verkehr PHK'in Nina Mathweis and PHK'in Bianca Scheer take care of those affected. Further information can be found in the victim protection flyer on the right.
